Preparing for your Appointment

We want your visit to be as smooth and helpful as possible. A little preparation can make a big difference. Here are some simple steps to help you get the most out of your appointment.

Before Your Appointment

Getting ready can help you feel more confident and make good use of your time. You might like to:

  • Write down your main concerns or questions.

  • Bring a list of any medicines, vitamins, or supplements you take.

  • Wear loose clothing if an examination might be needed.

  • Bring a friend or family member for support if you wish

Text Reminders

We can send you free text reminders for your appointments. This helps reduce missed visits and keeps things running smoothly.

  • To receive these reminders, please ensure we have your correct mobile telephone number on your record.
  • If you would not like to receive texts about your healthcare, including appointment reminders, please tell a member of our reception team.

Be on Time

Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are late, the doctor or nurse may not be able to see you. Missed appointments usually need to be rebooked for another day, unless it’s an urgent medical emergency.

During Your Appointment

Appointments are usually about 10 minutes. To make the best use of that time:

  • Ask questions if something isn’t clear.

  • Don’t be afraid to repeat or check details.

  • If you’re prescribed medicine, make sure you understand what it’s for and how to take it.

  • Mention difficult or embarrassing problems early, your GP is here to help.
