Non NHS Services and Private Fees

Non-NHS Services

The NHS covers the cost of providing medical care that is considered clinically necessary. However, not all services requested from your GP are funded by the NHS.

As an independent contractor to the NHS, Kelvingrove Medical Centre is permitted to charge for work that falls outside our NHS contractual responsibilities. This includes completing forms, writing private letters and reports, providing certificates, and carrying out private medical examinations.

Where a fee applies, you will always be advised of the cost before any work is undertaken. Payment must normally be received before the work is completed.

Please note: Requests for non-NHS work are completed alongside our NHS commitments and we must always prioritise meeting our NHS commitments. Whilst we aim to process requests as quickly as possible, we are unable to guarantee completion of non-NHS work within a specific timescale. If your request is urgent, please let us know when submitting it and we will do our best to accommodate your deadline where possible.
