GP Training

We are proud to be a training practice. We help teach new doctors while making sure your care is always safe and supported

What it means

We are an accredited training practice. This means we support doctors and medical students at different stages of their careers. By helping them learn, we also keep our whole team up to date with the latest medical knowledge.

Who you might see

  • GP Registrars: fully qualified doctors training to become GPs.

  • Foundation Doctors: recently qualified doctors gaining experience in general practice.

  • Medical Students: undergraduates learning about primary care.

How this affects you

  • You may sometimes be seen by a doctor in training.

  • Doctors in training are supported by an experienced GP. Sometimes this means a GP is present during the consultation. At other times, the trainee consults independently but can discuss your care with their supervisor.

  • You can ask to see a qualified GP instead, your care will not be affected.

Video recording consultations

Sometimes trainees may ask to record a consultation. This is for training and assessment only. We will always ask your permission first, and you can say no at any time.

Benefits for patients

  • More appointments available.

  • Doctors bring fresh knowledge and ideas.

  • Our practice maintains high standards through regular training reviews.
