Accessibility, Communication and Interpreters

Kelvingrove Medical Centre is committed to equal access for all patients. We want everyone to be able to use our services. Our building and support services help patients with mobility, visual, hearing, learning, or communication needs. If you have specific requirements, please tell us before your visit so we can help.

Parking

  • One disabled parking space is available for patients with a valid Blue Badge.

Notice
Please do not park outside the marked bay. Access to our garage must remain clear at all times so clinicians can leave for home visits. Thank you for your understanding.

Building Access

  • Both main entrances have automatic doors.

  • The surgery is step-free and wheelchair accessible.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the practice.

Toilets

  • Two accessible toilets are available for patient use.

Support for Hearing Impairments

  • A hearing loop is installed at reception.

  • Please ask staff if you need it switched on.

Interpreter Services

  • Interpreters can be arranged for patients who need language support including British Sign Language (BSL).

  • Please inform reception when booking your appointment.

Support for Visual or Reading Needs

  • Practice information can be provided in alternative formats:

    • Large print

    • Easy read

    • Braille

  • Please ask reception if you need information in another format.

How to Tell Us Your Needs

  • Let us know when booking an appointment (phone, online, or in person).

  • Speak to reception when you arrive.

  • Ask a carer or family member to tell us (with your permission).

We will record your needs so they are met every time you use our services.
